Internal threats to airports:

Internal violators (airport personnel, lessees, flight personnel, service personnel) – one of the main threats in airports:

  1. Loyalty of workers at checkpoints to other co-workers, lessees, transport employees and service personnel

  2. Fatigue and loss of vigilance

  3. Limitations of existing traditional access cards with electronic identification features: risk of loss, substitution of access cards, transfer to other individuals, etc.

  4. Lack of automated verification of true identity

  5. Difficult conditions of airports and distribution of access cards.

Use of Broadway 3D System identification devices for employees

Identification and verification of personnel and flight crew upon entry to sterile zone (after pre-flight inspection) and on the runway. Broadway 3D device, wall-mounted or floor model, can be used to secure access to work premises, as well as VIP zones and other areas of heightened access control.

Proposal of use of identification of registered, frequent flyer passengers (Fast Track, Clear Sky programs)

  1. Organization of pre-flight identification points for registered frequent flyers (Fast Track, Clear Sky programs)
    At the initial registration of a passenger in a privileged clients program his 3D image is recorded in a database or on a program membership card, which makes the subsequent document verification process automatic, taking only a few seconds. For the longest flights registration occurs automatically (using the frequent flyer membership card, passport and presented biometric characteristics by means of the 3d facial image). The membership card can be associated with a pre-paid or bonus account and offer the possibility of paying for various services at the airport (telephone, Internet access, parking, etc.) just by showing one’s “face”.

  2. Registration of passengers for a flight, receipt of boarding pass using a self-service biometric terminal.
    A Broadway 3D camera installed in a self-service automated terminal and automated ticket sales terminal verifies identity and protects against unauthorized or forced access.

  3. Biometric verification/identification upon landing of flight.
    Currently there exists a risk of switching of boarding passes before flight boarding, and the risk grows significantly with walkthrough registration of passengers on several flights with transfers. Repeat verification of passports at boarding for each flight is not always possible and is sometimes limited by law. Biometric verification of boarding passes totally precludes switching of passes.

  4. Content service at information kiosks
    Biometric information kiosks are modern, convenient, and user-friendly devices for bank customers, allow for simplification of internal communication between airport personnel, relieve employees of the burden of giving the same information repeatedly, and provide information support for passengers. A kiosk can give demonstration presentations to passengers, show news, advertisements, and provide a broad range of possibilities for independently receiving various forms of information as to airport operations, etc. Using Broadway 3D recognition, one can optimize servicing of frequent flyers at a kiosk equipped with a self-registration system where 3D facial images are stored in the database.
